Some ThoughtsIn GE 24:1-2, yes he was old, but he also probably didn't want to make the journey out of the promised land, nor did he want his promised son to, either (GE 24:6). Possibly because the temptation to resettle there would've been too great to resist, which could've been seen as abandoning God's covenant. Hannah (Samuel's mom) will demonstrate a similar caution in a few centuries.
